Monika Teal is an international artist with double citizenship, living and working in Switzerland and the United States of America.  A strong influence on her sensibilities were from a German mother and a rural American father, and a childhood spent in nature.

She has exhibited internationally for over 40 years, across the USA and Europe, including Switzerland, Italy, France, Hungary, Germany, Romania, as well as artist in residence and exhibiting artist from the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC.)  Teal works in various mediums, although painting is her original medium. Her works on paper and her 3D objects resonate with the symbolism of her paintings.  

 

An early feminist, much of Teal’s work responds to the consciousness of being a woman and seeing through a woman’s eyes.  Her work concerns itself with the interpretations of often overlooked subjects and how to raise our consciousness of our shared place in the world.   Teal is grounded in her commitment to and passion for her deep interests in our place in an ever-changing world.
