Drawing helps me to see in a way that means more than looking with the eye. Drawing, like a meditation, is an experience that brings me to another level of seeing. It quiets me and forces me to focus. Although I begin my paintings by drawing with a brush on canvas, I do these drawings for the sheer pleasure and peace they bring and for what they have to teach me.
